primary foods

Your relationships, career, spirituality, and exercise routine are known as primary foods, or non-food sources of nourishment. These things enrich our lives beyond the physical effects of food. Primary foods satisfy us on a deeper level—beyond the plate. Those foods found on the plate are secondary foods. When you find balance among these primary foods, your quality of life will improved. When people think of dieting, often they are immediately drawn to quick results. This leads to some unfortunate things, like crash dieting, which is not healthy. Instead of doing something dangerous that will only yield short-term results, you need to make a change that will impact your overall health. If you were to switch to a plant-based diet today, you would see results in a week. Your body deserves good food. The benefits of a plant-based diet over an animal-based diet are numerous. If you are thinking about staring a healthier lifestyle you have come to the right place.

These benefits include:

  • Digestion

Plant-based foods are easier to digest than animal-based foods.

  • Mood

With a plant-based diet, you will find that your mood will be significantly elevated versus when your diet is heavy with animal-based products.

  • Blood Sugar

Natural sugars found in many fruits can help to regulate your blood sugar—which is important for those who live with diabetes or hypoglycemia.

  • Skin

Plant-based diets are rich in vitamins A, C and E, as well as tons of antioxidants that will leave your skin healthy and glowing.

  • Energy

Because animal-based diets are harder to digest, they can often leave you lethargic. Plant-based diets are easier to digest and have energizing properties.

  • Anti-inflammatory

Many leafy greens contain chlorophyll which acts as a naturally occurring anti-inflammatory.
